Last week I posted a poll asking our readers about their current monthly salary as a work at home mom and I have to admit that I was kind of surprised by the results. Within the past 7 days, ninety-two work at home moms responded to our survey, Work At Home Moms: What Is Your Monthly Salary? Nearly half of all moms that answered our questionnaire make less than $500 per month. Since so many Moms fell into that category I am now wondering whether most of these moms work part time from home. Are they bloggers? Direct Sales? Affiliate Marketers? Etc? Do they work for a company part time? Or are they simply underpaid for what they do? Anyway, these are questions I hope to get answers to in the upcoming weeks and months. I may make this a part of a regular series of polls here at HomeJobsForMoms.biz Would you be interested? What I am most interested in now after seeing the results, is what work at home job each of these moms have and/or what category do they fall into? Additionally, I think it's important to find out whether these are new work at home moms just starting out who answered our poll or are these full time work at home moms? Another result worth noting is that 21.7 % of the moms polled made MORE than $2,000 per month. And, we also got a few people telling us that these numbers were too low. It would be nice to get an idea on what the majority of these work at home moms are doing so that those making less than $500 per month can get an idea of how to get to that point. Should they focus on finding a high paying work at home job or should they focus on building a solid home business? And now on to the official results: I also wanted to give some of those who completed the survey some linky love! Thanks! Here ya go! I get several inquiries each week from hopeful work at home moms about what kind of salary they should expect when starting out as a work at home mom. I personally do not have a salary range to go by since there are so many types of telecommuting jobs out there and so many different types of home business you can start. Therefore, I need your help. :) I'd love to hear from fellow established work at home moms regarding your average monthly salary, and I thought an anonymous poll would be the easiest way to go since income is such a sensitive issue for many. If you are already working from home full or part time, and making an income please share it with us in the poll below. Your feedback will help other work at home moms. I'll post the results and my thoughts after the poll has closed next week. * BONUS: If you vote in the poll and would like a link back to your blog/site shoot me an email and I'll create a post just for you being so awesome! ;) Labels: home business income, wahm income, work at home mom, work at home mom salary

A reader emailed me recently wanting to know about "rebate processing" jobs after she had seen an advertisement for this type of job online. Simply put, YES, rebate processing jobs are a scam because they are not being honest in how this program works. Sure, you may make a few dollars but it is not a real job. I don't care what else you hear about these kinds of jobs, if you have to pay for "maintenance or referral fees" or even "registration/material fees" then you are getting scammed. REAL work at home jobs will not require you to pay for anything up front EVER except in the case of medical transcription or for equipment like headphones, etc., for a few jobs out there. When an advertisement for a job sounds too easy and too good to be true, it usually is. Overall, I'd like to stress to Moms, Dads, and other readers here looking to work from home to please do not ever pay any fees to apply for a job or to get more information about a job. This is the first indication that something is not legit. Real employers looking for employees will not ask you for any money ever.
