5 Top Money-Making Work At Home Ideas

Are you looking for ways to make extra money from home? If you answered YES then these five mom-tested money-making ideas is a great place to start.

1. Sell On Ebay. Have junk or excess stuff lying around that you know someone else could use? You can make money by selling it on Ebay. Items that sell well are gently used clothing, books, toys, various antiques, current electronics, and trendy items. I’m sure everyone has at least a few of these things lying around not being used. Selling on Ebay is a great not to mention VERY QUICK way to get some extra cash.

2. Sell On Etsy. Are you a crafty person? Do you enjoy making things? If you do then I highly recommend you check out Etsy.com, a site where you can sell your handmade products.

3. Become A Virtual Assistant. A virtual assistant is someone who performs data entry, customer service, call center, and secretarial-type work. Many companies hire often for virtual assistant type jobs. Here are a few of those companies – Live Ops, Alpine Access, Arise Virtual Solutions, & VIPDesk.

4. Freelance Writing/Blogging. Great writing is what makes the Internet go around so these types of jobs are plentiful. The drawback – you really do have to be an excellent writer and need writing experience since so many people apply for these types of jobs. A great site to get more information on freelance writing jobs is FreelanceWritingGigs.com

5. Medical Transcription. A medical transcriptionist is a health-related position where the MT transcribes voice recordings by doctors and other health professionals. To do this job from home you will need an MT degree or have MT experience as well as the equipment for medical transcription. There are many full time positions available to do from home. A great place to start is MTDaily.com – which has been online since 1995.

Thank you for the ideas. Just thought I would leave one for your followers. I started a stay at home business through MyeBizPro. They are very misleading with you think twice before you sign up. They didn't tell me about the extra costs of having an internet business. Hope this helps someone some day.

I started selling lia sophia jewelry as a hobby and it's really turned into so much more… I was able to quit my full time job to stay at home with my baby. Did you know that only 6% of women in the country make 6 figures and of those women 80% do direct sales.
I'm on my way to replacing my full time income and I get to stay home every day with my baby–it's been so much easier than my 9-5 job. Now, we don't have to struggle to pay bills. You can stay home too and still make a great income! If you want to know more, email me…grussotiesi@yahoo.com or

I was introduced to a business opportunity when I had lost my previous job and it was the best thing that could have happenned to me. I joined the Scentsy Candle Business and was able to join a company that was young and new. I've always loved candles and one day I walked into my attorneys office and it smlled so good that I had to ask what kind of candle they were burning? The legal assistant Maylinda said it's actually not a candle! Its a Wickless Candle!! She proceeded to show me the 25 watt bulb that was underneath the dish with the melted wax. I thought there was a tealight under there! She continued to explain that it was also a night light and that I did not have to worry about any soot or flames either!! That I could leave it on all the time if I wanted to. I was so excited and I asked her where I could purchase one of these Wicless Candles and she turned around and gave me her website and a catalog! When I got home I immediately went on the website and placed my first Scentsy order. I could not wait to get it! When it arrived I took it out of its beautiful box and plugged it in and added a few cubes from the fragranced Candlebars that I had also ordered. French Lavendar (one of my favorites) and in minutes my home began to smell like lavendar or a spa!! I got so many compliments from family and friends and they wanted to buy one also so I decided to give Maylinda a call and told her that I wanted to join Scentsy and sell the products too! What a wonderful feeling to sell what you love! It makes it so much easier because I hate selling!! But the product sells itself!! I recommend it to anyone who wants to earn an extra income! It is perfect for stay at home moms or dads. Feel free to check out my site if you would be interested for yourself. I am more than happy to talk about my wonderful Scentsy experiences.

  14. Traci W says:

My name is Traci Whatley and worked for corporate American for 17 years where I was chewed up and spit out. I was tired of upper management dictating my work schedule as well as my paycheck. Being an entrepreneur has been the best career decision I have made. I have a husband and 3 young children. We are active in our church and with our friends. I chose Premier because they want me to prioritize God first, then family, then career. Secondly, jewelry is the all time #1 gift giver. So why not sell the #1 item? Think about it, people give jewelry for most holidays: mother’s day, valentine’s day, Christmas…and then also for certain occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, newborns. Jewelry is a very popular gift item. Premier is also a Debt-Free company and they educated and train on being debt free. You won’t see many Premier ladies with debt and neither am I. I am working to have money, to save money and I found that in Premier with the generous 50%…no levels, no funky calculations…EVERY jeweler gets 50% of retail. And now I have a downline, and I get a straight 10% of their profit…no funky calculations here either…I get 10% off everyone I sponsor, everyone they sponsor and then one more level. Three levels I get 10%…and the company will never move me out of this when I start making six figures. Also, I like that the product is not heavy…only one trip from my car into my homeshow. And Premier will not nickel and dime me. The cost is $395 and it pays for EVERYTHING! Shipping, website, toll free calling to corporate, training materials, catalogs, order forms, brochures, jewelry boxes and packaging, state tax fees, commission reports, EVERYTHING!!!

Finally, Premiers marketing plan is what keeps my business IN business. The company offers to a hostess 30% of the retail sales in FREE jewelry, 4-8 items at half off, AND four $25 jewelry bonuses. My average hostess gets $250 in FREE jewelry!!! This is what keeps my business going! Ladies want this free jewelry, so the ladies have the shows.

This website is just what the Dr. ordered! After sifting through several sights in search of an answer, your site gives me a little hope. I’m 24, my husband is wonderful and a great father but like so many is out work, and its really tough right now. I just had to tell you that your sight leaves me with no excuses as to why a motivated, determined, stay at home mom/dad can’t find a source of income with the right tools. So again thank you for those tools.
